The Commercial Superintendent will be responsible for the supervision and management of all aspects of assigned projects from mobilization through punch list and demobilization, including client relations and cost control of general conditions. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct day to day, onsite supervision of subcontractor labor force
  • Maintain professional relationships with client, customers, contractors, suppliers and colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internal and external
  • Possess excellent customer service both in person and over the phone
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work efficiently against deadlines
  • Ability to listen, take direction, and resolve issues with a sense of urgency, and ability to articulate clearly when communicating with others
  • Manage the field personnel and all activities according to the schedule through project completion
  • Coordinate site testing and building Inspections
  • Manage and update project schedule to all subcontractors and project team
  • Ability to forecast scheduling subcontractor and preparing a three week look ahead for client
  • Ensure all activities take place on or ahead of schedule
  • Ensure the highest quality workmanship is provided
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project drawings and specifications
  • Review, verify or generate all (RFIs)
  • Prepare daily briefing memos
  • Conduct weekly onsite meeting or conference call
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Ensure an Injury-Free Environment promote jobsite safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards meets or exceeds OSHA safety standards


About you:

  • Our ideal candidate will be supportive in a team environment; think “big picture” and take into account long term implications while constantly analyzing ways to improve performance and product
  • Have experience in the construction industry in a supervisory role
  • Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades), and prior experience as a foreman or journeyman
  • OSHA 30 hour training or equivalent
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project) Adobe, Procore
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work outside year round in all types of weather conditions
  • Availability to work extended hours as required by weather conditions or urgent circumstances
  • Ability to travel throughout all areas of construction sites during all phases of a project
  • Hearing and visual capabilities to safely handle the hazards encountered in the work environment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as encountered in the work environment
  • Ability to raise, lower and climb various types of ladders
  • Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies
  • Provides personal transportation that is insured, legal and reliable to multiple and sometimes distant jobsites
  • Uses cellular and electronic mail communication tools effectively so as to continuously remain within communication range of other company managers
